Roasted Apple Recipe
If you make something on the grill, it should be these simple roasted apples. They are pure magic. Like an apple pie filling, but with a delicious, smoky grilled flavor. I can’t even tell you how good this is.
Recently, I have been grilling more and more fruits due to the very delicious results. The combination of caramel fruit and roasted with less smoky flavor is hard to beat. Plus, this means there are no extra dishes. At the top of this list are these baked apples. I can eat them every day.
The first time I ate these apples was a few years ago at a campfire and I honestly haven’t thought about them in years. Then I itched some fruit but couldn’t find any peaches, which was my initial plan. I stared at some apples in the kitchen and suddenly remembered those incredible campfire roasted apples, knowing I had to recreate them.
It starts with aluminum foil packaging. This ensures that the apples are cooked all the way. For added flavor, discard apples with a classic combination of butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. I also like to add some ginger, but this is totally optional. Then, everything is cooked until the apples are tender and there is a smoky smell on the grill. Trust me, you need to be as soon as possible.
How to roast apples
Baking apples may seem complicated, but it is not easy. Simply slice them, wrap them in foil, and prepare for grilling.
- First cut the apple into small pieces – slice, diced, small wedges, any shape will work.
- Prepare the foil packaging by doubling the two layers of heavy duty foil. You can make a larger home style section or make my favorite choice, a single packet.
- Add the apple to the center of the foil. Mix well with cinnamon, brown sugar and ginger. Then put the cubic butter on top.
- Sealed foil. This helps the apples cook all the way.
- Bake over medium heat for about 15 minutes, spinning the packets a few times during the cooking process until the apples are cooked to your preference. Open and serve carefully.
Top idea
- Ice cream or frozen yogurt: Given that we are almost making Apple Pie, this seems like a natural fit, and you can’t be wrong. This is my favorite way to eat these apples. The ice cream melts directly into the apple, which is not bad.
- Greek Yogurt: For some healthier options, consider adding some regular or vanilla yogurt to the apple. In my opinion. This makes them healthy enough to be healthy for breakfast, and this is my favorite thing about leftover roasted apples.
- Mascarpone: For a special treat, top with a pinch of mascarpone cheese and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Chopped nuts: For some texture and tightening, add some chopped nuts. Favorites include walnuts, pecans and thinly sliced almonds.
- Granola: Another delicious option in Kruenlar is granola. With some yogurt, it’s the perfect camping breakfast.
- Caramel or peanut butter drizzle: When we make this for the party, I like to drizzle some caramel, melted peanut butter before serving, or both on the top right. It’s hard to beat.
- Crispy Bacon and Maple Syrup: If you like everything that is salty and sweet, add some crispy cooked bacon and a little maple syrup drizzle. This is another popular choice for guests.
- Whipped cream: Before serving, use classic, light or coconut whipped cream and add some cream to the apple.
Can I cut the apples in half or slice them?
If you want a faster solution, you can also grill directly on the grill when slicing the apples in half, wedges or rounds. It takes 3-5 minutes to slice or wedge each side. Flip when there are signs of barbecue. When they start to become gentle, they are ready.
The apple half can be baked down on the cut side for about 5 minutes and then flipped. Cook until you like to be soft and cook for about 6-8 minutes. The skin may burn slightly, but the inside of the apple will be cooked.

- Add more fruits: This is one of the recipes you can use once you have the basics. One of my favorite ways to change the taste is to add another fruit to the mixture. Consider trying pears, plums, peaches, pineapple, blueberries, raspberries, dried cranberries or raisins.
- Try different spices: Another great way to change the flavor is to use different spices. Warm spices like cardamom, mace, spice powder and nutmeg are all great choices. You can also add a hint of black pepper, salt or turmeric to try something different.
- Let them salty: Believe it or not, these are also a salty app. Think about stir-frying apples. Usually, for this option I would add another delicious vegetable like butternut squash or cabbage. Then add your favorite seasonings, sours and herbs.
- Sweet and salty: Use sweet and spicy application with center-cut bacon or turkey bacon. You can also add sliced sausages.

- dessert: Naturally, these can make amazing desserts by themselves or any of the toppings listed above. That’s how we eat them 99% of the time, because they’re just that good.
- salad: Cook it for about 8-10 minutes to retain some of its texture. Then toss them into your favorite salad or salad.
