Black Stone Grill Air Fryer Combo Review: Stupid, but Not Nice

Look, I don’t Fool. I live in the United States. I know it’s only a matter of time until every device can use a fryer or pizza oven. Now the world recognizes air frying toasters, air fryers, air fryers and air fryers microwaves. Over the past few months, I have tested both pizza grills and pizza fried wood.
But I still didn’t expect this new device from Blackstone. Their newest four-burning iron forged grill has a fifth propane burner that heats a pair of air frying baskets mounted under a 36-inch flat top. The air flow comes from the loud 75-watt fan you have to plug in. The basket is perforated stainless steel, burly and rough. This is an air fryer built for lovers of big trucks, big dogs and fine beer.
“Why do I need a propane air fryer?” I asked my editor. My editor has no answer.
After weeks of painting, fries and tacos, I still don’t know why I need to put a propane-heated air fryer on my grill. However, most guys driving Hemi don’t need it either. What I know is that I like it.

I made low-oil breakfast potatoes in the drawer while pancakes and bacon were cooked on top. I’ve fried a corn cob and served with my steak and fries as a burger. It’s perhaps a silly indulgence, $400 more than the exposed iron forged model without a fryer drawer and cabinet door. But, like a lot of stupid indulgence, it’s fun.
Strong barbecue with some hot spots
First thing: Blackstone products are the barbecue companies more responsible than anyone else for the sudden surge in backyards and smashers in America. The company has nothing to do with the same name private equity firm that recently bought a majority stake in Jersey Mike – but now it has to do with Weber Grill Company: These two backyard behemoths merged this spring, merged with Grids and the Grill, and the shape is unclear.
Both Weber and Blackstone make a stand-up barrier in the backyard (see our 2023 Weber review). But, as far as I know, only Blackstone can carry a double basket air fryer under it.
Assembly is easy and hard. It depends on whether you two have two. Almost every standing grill manufacturer recommends you assemble with the assistant: At one point or another, you have to flip things over, or line up heavy-duty grill plates. But this Black Stone has several steps in particular real Need an observer or holder to avoid bothering and sweating and want to know the decision to bring you here. Buy beer. Call a friend.
The result of tightening the number of non-colored screws is that the construction is re-fixed on the powder-coated black steel frame. The double-preparation tray folds downwards and is a welcome touch when rolling it in or out of the shed. But unlike Traeger or Weber, there is no system that measures the fullness of your propane tank except a little…lifting the tank.
