We haven’t tried the absolutely nasty vacuum yet. These below are solid vacuum cleaners that are much cheaper than our preferred price in some cases, but we don’t like them much.

Bissell Iconpet Turbo Edge costs $200: Bissell’s OG Stick Vacuum is a popular model that has been around for some time. It picks up hair and cat litter well and easily turns into a handheld VAC. The battery lasted longer, but former cable critic Medea Giordano was not impressed by its Cheerio collection skills and could not stand alone.

Dirt Magic Spin Pet Wireless Stick Vacuum Cleaner, $93: We previously suggested using this as a budget option. This is a good money, but the results are different about how long the battery will last and the build quality.

Dyson V12 is tested for $580: The V12 detection (8/10, wired recommendation) is going to be cheaper and lighter than the V15 (although it’s not as powerful and has a smaller bin).

Eufy Robot Vacuum 3-in-1 E20 priced at $400: Wired reviewer Adrienne was shocked to try Eufy’s E20 (8/10, Wired Review), a rod vacuum, handheld vacuum and robot vacuum. This is a convenient, well-designed device, but only for light cleaning.

Eureka Innova cordless rod faceted vacuum for $207: It’s a good stick vacuum at a reasonable price. It’s especially nice to clean up the garbage mat and has specific carpet and hardwood settings. However, to absorb larger pieces, such as Cheerios, I had to lift the vacuum and place it directly on top of them.

GreenWorks PowerAll 24V Wireless Rod Vacuum for $288: I love the LED screen of this Stick Vac, letting me know the power level I use and the remaining battery power based on the power level used. It comes with a variety of accessories and has a battery like a power tool to make it maximum.

Hoover Onepwr shows up for pets for $153: Our testers say this is not a bad vacuum in the regular mode, but the accessory has fragile suction capability. Otherwise, it completes the work.

Mova S1 detects cordless vacuum cleaners for $299: This is a nice great vacuum with a nice set of accessories and works great in my home. Our preferred cheapest job does similar work, though, and it takes a lot of effort to put the jar back in place when emptying it.

$130 Procenic P13 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner: Our tester was surprised by the green light of this vacuum dust and dirt. It’s almost rude to see how much you didn’t notice in regular lighting. However, it takes a lot of passes to really clean most of the debris. As far as the price goes, this is not bad, as there is no limit to everyday vacuum, but you definitely need a stronger upright vacuum for a deeper cleaning.

Tineco Go Go Pet Cordless Vacuum Price $300: Wired reviewer Molly Higgins tested this vacuum pet hair and she was overwhelmed by the experience. This is a reliable VAC, but we recommend you a better option.

$160 Worx 20V Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner: It’s a thin enough vacuum, but the bin is hard to clean compared to the others I’ve tested.

How do we test

The best way to test a vacuum is to use it as usual. So for months we have lived in these cordless vacuums, spinning them to handle daily messes and doing weekly deep cleanings on hardwood floors, area carpets and carpets every week. We sued them, asked our partners to use them, and even took some retail stores to retail stores to clean up and cleaned them after antique furniture and a lot of people.

We also conducted in-person tests comparing how everyone picked up Cheerios and Cat trash to see if they blew up debris or needed a few passes. We also picked up already solid dust and dirt from the vacuum bin and watched the vacuum cleaner suck them back in its thickened state.
