The far-right ‘Call for Heaven’ flag flying above the D.C. government agencies

Controversial “attraction” Last week in Washington, D.C., the recent banner related to the “Stop Stealing” movement and Christian nationalism was on the Small Business Administration (SBA) agency.
On June 11, former Georgia Senator Kelly Loeffler attended a ceremony where the agency’s headquarters proposed a new flag. Just under that banner, it seems to be the same Horeid, is the attraction to the heavenly flag. Sources told Wired that the “Appointment to Heaven” flag is less than a day.
Although the origin of the flag can be traced back to the Revolutionary War, in recent years it has become a popular symbol on the far right. The rioters on January 6 waved their appeal to the flag of heaven during the riots at the Capitol in 2021 and had links with supporters of President Donald Trump, who denied the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. The flag is also related to Christian nationalists who believe that the United States should be a Christian country, not a secular country.
“People who call for the heaven flag in government buildings and the American flag are shocked,” said Jon Lewis, a researcher at the George Washington University Extremism Program. “The contemporary use of the attractiveness of the heaven flag is synonymous with Christian nationalism, stopping altogether.”
Lewis added: “Those who appealed to the Capitol on January 6 do this because they truly believe that they have the opportunity to inject Christian fundamentalism into the foundations of our democracy, and the image of the same flag on the SBA will give them sufficient evidence.”
Other Republicans have previously shared their support for calling for the flag of heaven. House Speaker Mike Johnson showed the flag outside the office, which was controversial outside the Supreme Court Samuel Alito’s deputy judge in New Jersey vacation home. Johnson said in an interview with the Associated Press that he did not know that the flag was related to election denial. Alito said the same thing in a letter to lawmakers last year. (Alito has also been slammed for hanging upside down American flags at home in Virginia. The inverted flag is a distress signal related to right-wing protesters in recent years).
“Today at the SBA’s Flag Day ceremony, we proudly raised a new American-made flag at the Washington headquarters. Under its stars and stripes, representing the stars and stripes representing the best 34 million small businesses in the United States,” Loeffler wrote in an article on Account X on June 11. The post includes photos calling for the flag of heaven as well as photos of Loeffler and others that seem to look up at the two flags.
