Silk and Snow S&S Organic Mattress Review: Soft as a Cloud

immediately Bat, I let you know that this bed is neither silk nor snow. I think it’s made with something better -Latex. Everything I hear is hard to pinpoint the feeling of latex compared to going from thicker yoga mats or trampolines to water beds. The truth is, latex has a cushioning, stress relief and elastic feel. It is also very good at keeping calories and allergens, which is a win for popular sleepers and allergies. With the S&S organic mattress, I wanted to see if this bed is really the intersection of these performance aspects and pair it with an eco-friendly building. After a week of testing, I have some people who will be the primary candidates for this bed.

The S&S organic mattress structure is environmentally friendly from top to bottom and provides proof. The bed contains GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard) and Eco-Material Materials. As a professional mattress tester, I can verify these are some of the best certifications you can support the product organic proposition. The latex used is from Sri Lanka, cotton from India and even coils are from Toronto, Canada to limit transportation pollution by keeping this material on the mainland. Eco-Institut certification ensures that the material does not contain harmful substances or emits any similar substances, which is counterintuitive to its “organic” state.
Depending on the firmness you have, the structure will change slightly, whether it is a medium company or a plush. I went to a medium-sized company that included the Euro Pillow Top. Silk & Snow notes on its website that this particular firmness is targeted at “the surrounding side, back and combination sleeper”, to which I say: “Let’s see.”
Medium-sized fabrication structures include organic cotton covers, organic seam wool, organic seam latex, thicker organic latex layers and bagged coils. Now that you have a recipe, what does that mean? Starting from the top layer, there is a GOTS certified organic cotton cover on the top of the pillow and a layer of wool underneath, which is also vibrating. Both materials are breathable and porous, so they are designed to maintain room temperature. Wool is also fire-resistant, which means there is no artificial fire here.
The latex layer is perforated for airflow and relief and is a specific firm variety called Dunlop. This refers to the feeling of latex, and there is a top 0.8-inch layer, a material barrier, and then a 1.5-inch premium buffer layer. You already have a material barrier to protecting latex and the coils on the base are bagged for custom support. They are reinforced around the middle and edges, so the super fixed feel helps with waist support and keeps you from tilting the edges when lying or sitting on the sides. To perfect the protection, there is another layer of wool at the bottom that makes the bed fireproof.

On the first night of testing S&S organic, I stuffed myself in it, it was cold, which usually doesn’t happen with a mattress. I felt a gentle push on the surface of the bed, but not in a way to counteract the pressure relief on my hips and shoulders. As the week continued, I began to notice other benefits of bed. It’s very easy to walk around, and if I switch sides, I’ll give me a little extra “charm”. It’s not a slingshot, but the bed nipple and coil structure make the surface very responsive. So far, I agree to the assessment of the ending of the silk and snow, which is a side and leg friendly mattress.
