The Delta Skymiles® GoldBusiness American Express card is a reliable starting point for business owners looking to dip their toes into the Delta’s shared brand lineup. Business owners loyal to Delta Airlines have many weekly travelers who still make joint choices in the air.

The Delta Skymiles Gold Business American Express card is the first product in the Delta business card lineup. To increase applicants’ chances of approval, we recommend that they have a credit score of 670 or higher. The card has an annual fee of $150 (the annual introduction fee for the first year is $0).

This card is built for those who want to make money and take advantage of the privileges when taking advantage of the Delta, but they may not travel with the airline to justify a more advanced card.

Let’s see how this card stacks with its delta counterpart and other non-Delta alternatives.

Delta Skymiles Gold Business Amex offers new CardMembers with the opportunity to earn 90,000 miles of bonus miles after spending $6,000 in the first six months of card membership. This offer ends on July 16.

molecular

According to TPG’s June 2025 valuation, the value of this offer is $1,125. This is the best quote we’ve seen on this card, so if you’ve been on the fence, it’s time to apply.

The $0 introductory annual fee for the first year ($150 a year thereafter) makes it a decent choice for business owners who occasionally ride the Delta.

American Express also limits people who can apply for a card, which usually does not meet popular bonuses if you have previously held this card. American Express may also look at other factors when determining eligibility for a welcome offer, but they will notify you of being able to receive a welcome offer for your card before making a credit score.

Earn miles on Delta Gold Business Amex

These aren’t shocking revenue rates, but it’s nice to see some non-travel bonus categories to help business owners earn more money on buying more purchases than just traveling with Delta. That said, we usually recommend buying non-Delta on another card with transferable rewards.

Redemption of miles on Delta Gold Business

Delta or its Skyteam Alliance Partners reward flights are your best choice for redemption. Delta’s dynamic reward pricing makes it difficult to maximize Skymiles, but if you can spend time doing your own search and you can still find the value of the program when redeeming miles.

Delta often offers Flash sales and other transactions on its website and offers excellent redemption options for international and domestic itineraries.

You can also use Skymiles for seat upgrades. Just know that since the Delta doesn’t have a bonus chart, you won’t know how many miles these quality seats will cost until you’re ready to book.

Skymiles Upgrades After your flight uses the mileage upgrade reward, Skymiles upgrades are also valid when you book your flight. These three airlines are Delta partners.

You can also redeem Skymiles for gift cards, magazines, unique Skymiles experiences, online shopping and more, although these choices almost always yield returns than the best deals.

TPG Senior Editorial Director Nick Ewen used 15% of the takeoff to redeem his Skymiles for domestic trips. This effectively reduced the number of miles he needed to redeem the Delta flight.
