Homemade strawberry popsicles are simply made with fresh strawberries, honey and water, making it the ultimate summer delicacy for summer. Use them as a delicious after-dinner snack or a dessert for your next pool party or backyard barbecue.

I have used these babies in a lot since I first purchased the silicone popsicle mold. From cream peach popsicles to refreshing fruit popsicles, and everything in between, I did it. At this point, you can call me the popsicle queen. Popsicle Queen? Crazy lady, referring to herself as the cold treatment ruler? Whatever you want to call it, I know my popsicle. These strawberry popsicles are its.

I’ve tried many different homemade popsicle recipes, but nothing is easier than this. There is no crazy ingredients, no long process, and no stain on every dish in the kitchen. All you need is fruit, honey (or any sweetener), water, a blender and some popsicle mold. Simply mix everything together and pour the puree into the popsicle mold.

I like using strawberries’ flavor, nutritional content and bright colors, but you can use any type of fruit in this recipe. Mango, pineapple, watermelon, raspberry – your name. My biggest suggestion here is that you use fruit from the current season because it tastes the best and is usually the most affordable.

Whether you are looking for healthy snack recipes to treat your kids with healthy dessert recipes after dinner, these strawberry popsicles are the way to go. They are delicious, nutritious and incredibly refreshing – what else can you ask for in your summer enjoyment?

Ingredients for making strawberry popsicles, including fresh strawberries, honey, water and lemon juice.

What do you need to make strawberry popsicle

To make these delicious cold snacks, you only need 3 simple ingredients:

  • strawberry: I prefer to use fresh strawberries, but you can use frozen strawberries if you want. If you go the frozen route, I recommend letting them thaw first.
  • Honey: The sweetness of honey enhances the sweetness of strawberries and makes our popsicles more delicious. You can adjust the amount of honey you use according to the sweetness of the strawberries.
  • water: For added flavor, feel free to change pure water or juice to pure water.
  • Lemon juice: This optional ingredient adds some extra brightness to the popsicle. It adds a strong flavor to balance the sweetness of the berries. You can also add some lemon zest to some orange juice or lemon juice or even swap.

Recipe Ideas

Want to be creative? Here are some of my favorite ways to switch this recipe:

  • Make it vegan: To make this recipe vegan, try swapping honey for maple syrup or agave.
  • Add more fruits: You can add fruits like bananas, peaches, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries to make these popsicles more complex (and delicious).
  • Make it clumsy: Hold parties and find fun snacks for adults? no problem. Try adding some rum or vodka to your popsicle! Be careful not to add too much, otherwise you will risk popsicles not freezing.
  • Add some citrus: To further enhance the flavor of these refreshing popsicles while adding a bunch of nutrients, try adding fresh lemon, lime or orange juice.
  • Make it creamy: If you want cream instead of ice-cold popsicles, add Greek yogurt or coconut milk to the mixture. The result will be super ice cream, not delicious.
  • Change water: You can exchange the regular water as you like with flavored liquids such as coconut water or juice (such as orange, pineapple, or white grape juice).
  • Add protein: Enhance the protein in these pop music by mixing it in some Greek yogurt, chia seeds or protein powder. You can also fuse protein-rich dairy milk to create a strawberry milk pop.

How to store homemade popsicles

Although we initially freeze popsicles in popsicle molds, this is not the best way to store them for a long time. Instead, you should transfer the completely frozen popsicle to an airtight bag before storing it for a long time. This helps them retain texture, flavor and color for longer while working to prevent the refrigerator from burning. These healthy homemade popsicles will stay fresh in the refrigerator for 2 months after stocking properly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Below you can find answers to the most common questions about homemade popsicles:

How long does it take for homemade popsicles to freeze?

When making homemade popsicles, you should let them freeze in popsicles molds for at least 6 hours. I prefer giving them time to freeze overnight. I know that after a few hours they seem to pull them out of the mold easily, but if you remove them too early, the center may not be completely frozen and the popsicles will scatter.

Can I use frozen strawberries instead of fresh strawberries?

certainly. If strawberries are not in the season, or if you want to use frozen strawberries you already have at home, you can definitely do that. However, if you decide to use frozen berries, make sure to let the berries thaw first.

How do you stand out from the mold?

Sliding popsicles out of the mold should be easy, but if you have trouble, you can quickly fix this. Simply run the bottom of the mold until warm water for 10-15 seconds, and they should slide out easily.

What can I use instead of honey?

If you don’t have honey or just want to use something else, you can swap it for another natural sweetener, like maple syrup or agave.

Can I use a food processing machine to make popsicles?

Absolutely! Food processors can blend strawberries well. Just add everything to the food processor and then add the puree to the consistency you need.
