Claire’s Life: Winning the inaugural Fashion Awards at Camille Rose’s Beauté Noire Dinner and the inaugural Fashion Awards with Janell Stephens, Yandy Smith, Monyetta Shaw and more!
Last night, in June, I received a huge honor to win the inaugural Fashion Award in Beauté Noire Dandy Dandy & Gala by Janell Stephens of Camille Rose Naturals.
This moment is not only a celebration of personal achievements, but a strong recognition of the beauty, brilliance and resilience of our community. As I stood at that stage, I looked back at how far I went, from Georgia’s Rocky Mountain to the grand carpet of the Metropolitan, and how faith, consistency, and culture continued to guide my fashion journey.
The night was a real celebration of black excellence. The ballroom radiates with bold style, sharp cuts and profound pride. Camille Rose founder Janell Stephens has the vision to curate an amazing experience filled with flowers, fashion and exquisite energy.
Winners include pioneers of beauty, fashion and entrepreneurship – respectful for our contributions to creating space and heritage.
I am so grateful to Janell and her team for recognizing my work and for building a platform that respects and enhances our story.
The room was filled with familiar faces and friends who continued to inspire and improve. Yandy Smith lights up the night in a yellow Oyemwen Pantsuit, Monyetta Shaw has grace in the black Satin Dolce & Gabbana, while the unparalleled Derek J and Miss Lawence bring their signature to the celebration. Other attendees included my winners Terri J. Vaughn, Nicci Gilbert, Vlogger Lovely Ti, producer Princess and makeup artist Latasha Wright.
From red carpet interviews to dance floor moments, energy is both celebrated and historical. This reminds us that our culture drives narrative, and our existence is power.
In a day as important as Junte1th, being recognized in this glory is something I will never forget. This is for the dreamers, the destroyers and the designers of tomorrow. keep going. Stay shiny. Keep lifting while climbing up.
