Anthros Chair V2 Review: Surprisingly great

Very rare I continued to sit in the chair and after giving me enough test time, I gave me a good review. Usually, I want to jump back to my Herman Miller expression, which feels great for my body. But the Anthros V2 is a surprise. This has been around for months thanks to the endless Instagram marketing reels, but honestly, these reels make me even more skeptical.

Anthros is a newcomer to the scene, with the first version of the chair only in 2023. It makes a bigger claim than office staunch like Herman Miller and offers better support for improving your posture. The V2 chair isn’t helpful in the $2,000 North, although it seems to be sold frequently, and costs around $1,900.

However, after nearly two months of sitting, the claim was brought up – I found it more supportive than almost all the chairs I’ve tested, and my posture was great. The manifestation still has a place in my heart, but the Anthros V2 is probably the best chair for anyone looking to improve their posture, especially if you’re dealing with back pain all the time.

Pelvic support

The focus of the Anthros chair is to support the pelvis, not the waist, similar to the Aeron and Embody of Herman Miller, except when dialing in the backrest, it allows you to use it more. After setting up, I called the ANTHROS ergonomic therapist, each client included. The therapist looks at how you sit in a chair (video call) and will make suggestions until you feel comfortable in your seat. I hope every luxury chair offers such service.

The rear knobs on the left and right sides of the chair control the two-part backrest system. The right knob moves the waist backrest forward and backward, and the left knob holds the top. I haven’t sat in the chair yet, allowing you to adjust the backrest to this extent, and I find it helps to precisely customize the body shape of the chair. This is the highest backrest I spent a little time getting used to.

On my first day on the chair, I felt a little sore because it almost felt like the chair was pushing forward. This is my posture to correct myself. Just like a whistle. I also appreciate the compact design, which proves that you don’t need the entire back to be secured by the backrest to feel the support, just like if the design is good, you don’t need a headrest on an office chair.

I spent a lot of time lying in this chair and my posture didn’t change. You can lock the reclining with the left front knob, but I unlock it on the tightest tension (through the right front knob), allowing me to gently tilt backwards. I never felt uncomfortable. This may also be due to the plush cloud seats, which are thicker than you will find on most high-end office chairs.

The only pain I had in this seat was that I found my 6’4-inch frame lacked depth. It’s about the difference between the edge of my knee and the back of my fingers, which ideally should be two to three. This is not a spoiler. This is not a spoiler, but I would love to feel the coverage is close to my knees. The seats are getting closer.

There is a lot of customization when buying chairs. You can choose between a white or black frame, add an interesting back panel (such as wood or a specific design), and then choose a fabric or leather interior. I’ve been sitting on the sleek Athlon performance fabric and it shows no signs of pills even after nearly two months of daily use.
