Why dehumidification
Humidter air Feel hot. The humidity at 70 degrees will be 40% worse than the humidity at 70 degrees. When I unplugged the refrigerator, I was eager to solve the east coast humidity of the swamp. Once I plugged it in, it took only 15 minutes to reduce the indoor humidity of my two-bedroom apartment from 75% of life to 40% of comfortable. With its smart settings, you set humidity from 35% to 5% to 85%, and the machine turns off when the indoor humidity reaches that level.

It won’t run all the time. Instead, it will monitor the actual humidity and turn on the fan and change its speed as needed. Frigidaire did not allow humidity to climb more than a few percentage points before turning on to restore humidity. Using the Thermopro TP49 digital thermometer and hygrometer to measure humidity levels, Frigidaire has a great read on the actual humidity levels in my apartment. When I set it to 45%, it stays at 45%, plus or subtract no more than a few percentage points.
Its automatic function on, on or occasionally to medium fan settings is smooth and clever. When I open a window to allow the breeze (and that humid, wet outdoor air), the machine quickly starts up higher fan speeds to absorb the humid air entering my home.
As far as noise is concerned, I’m going to say that the dehumidifier noise is not too noisy, but it’s not unwise nor “whispering”. Even with the lowest fan speed (three), you will hear it. That’s why I put my apartment at the end, not in the middle, even if it should be more centered. I love white noise, and even in the stuffy East Coast summer, I never need to turn it fast. Using the NIOSH sound level meter app on the iPhone 15 Pro, I measured 50-60 decibels, depending on whether the dehumidifier buzzed at low fan speed or exploded high. If you can’t even stand the sound of the floor fan, then Frigidaire will bother you because it’s bigger than that.
The dehumidifier requires a lot of energy to run, so expect to see the use of an energy bill appear. The 35 sales machine I tested used 380 watts. This is obviously better than the 590-watt GE 35 Pint Dehumidifier and better than the 420-watts of the LG 30 Pint Dehumidifier. Anker said comparing the overall dehumidifier to more familiar household appliances, he said that an average 55-inch TV would use 77 watts in standby mode, versus 2.1 watts.
