Adapt to change the pivot

Jeff Altman, Big Game Hunter

Changing a certain change is very easy and difficult. Here, I explained how.
I’m Jeff Altman, a big hunter. I am the head coach of Jobsearch.community. I want to use myself as an example to adapt, change and rotate and tell the story of my own career and life. You know, when I graduated from the Stone Age, I knew, I was walking out with the club and ready to kill animals. How long ago was that? I graduated from a graduate who didn’t have real relevant skills and found that a job that was open to me was to become a recruiter.
Then there are recruiters, I don’t have special skills. I have an undergraduate degree in political science and have worked with my partners for a year and a half. After years of divorce, I started my first business and ended me, and I think it was then when I went to work for someone, well, let me go back. So I worked for a year and a half. I started a business with a partner, started my first business, then the second name, and worked in two different companies for 15 years, then recruited for another 16 years, and then hired again. This is a quick summary for many years.
Now, along the way, I realize a lot of things about myself, one is that I really don’t like recruiting so many. Yes, I love this activity and it’s part of what I really thrives. I like this deal. I love success, but the frustration is incredible, but I did it because that’s what I think I can do, the money is great. But you know I really didn’t do it after a while.
So from my experience developing with a boy group, I thought about the idea of becoming a private practice therapist, got my master’s degree, and then was lucky enough to meet my wife in graduate school. So I made a very clear decision to put my career changes on the shelves because we wanted to do the house, the kids, the whole thing. I put it aside and waited and then went back to it after a few years to make the transition to coaching. I share this story because frankly, sometimes you want to do something, it’s not the right time and you’ll have to adapt.
Now, adaptation requires many different forms. So, for example, I went to a master’s degree and doing so, I got some kind of training, which was very helpful for both of us, which was in my hope of becoming a private practice therapist in my career. And the way I adapted it worked very well for me. Even if I put career changes on hold, it was great for my relationship with my wife, where I met my wife. This is a way we can talk about, that we gain a common connection from this experience. We have conducted psychoanalysis training together for many years. Each of us practices before coaching, etc.
Sometimes you need to adapt to the situation because they change and you can criticize yourself. “Oh, I didn’t do it! I think what you did better is to wait for the right time and then make a pivot to master the skills you have to go in a different direction.
For example, one of the things I do with a coach is to be an executive job search coach who gained my experience from searching jobs and allowed me to work as an ally for senior job seekers and help them reposition them to the next organization, and it was obvious that I didn’t work as a recruiter. I am their coach and helping them navigate between all these different directions they have to fight against, answering their questions, the translation situation, and my search background is very helpful. That became. . . Trouble. . . I was a little jumping. For me, this is a huge key point for me because I don’t know any growing little boy or girl saying, “I want to be “I want to be an executive job coach”. No one, right? But from my experience, I’m able to create something that works very well.
You can execute your version, but I think the key element here is to be patient with it and then have the courage to make the leap. As I said in another video It all starts with courage – the courage to achieve the changes necessary to live the life you want. It starts from there, being true to yourself, serving others and being diverse. . . I’ll do some other things later. But when it’s all said, I want to encourage you to go out and start looking for ways to make changes. Unless you feel like you’re ready, don’t worry, and you’ve lined up in your head and have researched it, even then, it can be useful for you to get some coaches to go through some of these obstacles that may appear along the way. I would love to help you. Contact me at jeffaltman@thebiggamehunter.us. In the subject line, say the word “coach” and we will figure out the time to speak. Have a nice day. careful!
