The best way to redeem Avios
There are many ways to redeem Avios in a variety of airlines and programs, here are some of our favorite options:
- British Airways Club Off-peak flights from London to European destinations 650 miles away are charged only 4,750 Avios per method (just 5,250 Avios is required for peak-day flights). This includes destinations in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Denmark, France, Germany, Austria and Italy.
- Finnair Plus Regardless of the length of the flight, Alaska Airlines only charges 11,000 Avios for flights in the Mainland and Canada. This includes coast-to-coast service, which is a great choice even if you need a connection. If you want to take American Airlines you will charge a higher 16,500 Avios rate one-way, so try finding a trip that is operated only by Alaska.
- Iberian Club One of the cheapest ways to unlock business class to fly to Europe. The length of the Atlantic flights below 4,000 miles is only 40,500 Iberia Avios, as well as minimal fees and off-peak date taxes. These include airports flying from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), John Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York and Dulles International Airport (IAD) near Washington, DC.
- British Airways Club Thanks to the distance-based Avios map, it offers 13,000 British airline Avios flying from major West Coast cities to the Hawaiian Islands. This exceeds the reward rate for all US airlines.
