What is a work of art? 7 The artist answered an existing question.

I almost had to stop by by plane from Albuquerque. I fly a lot and always choose window seats for each leg, alternating ports and starboard. Why? Save my neck. I tend to wipe the flight over the windows, agape and awe of clouds, mother’s change and natural skin far away. It almost always attracts tears.
If I don’t switch sides, I learnt that I’ll feel pain in my neck.
Sometimes I find myself pounding a stranger on the shoulder and destroying their TV show to point frantically to a limited oval, maybe a solar eclipse, a lightning storm, the highest mountain sunset. Usually, they humor me, pick up Gander, nod, smile, thumb up, and go back to what they are doing.
Sometimes I wonder how the squad is the status quo. When did we decide to prioritize comfort above connection with the world around us? How do we lose our ability to empathize, represent each other or represent the environment? I’m digging into my own humanity (my own abilities of feeling) and can find the heartbreak that this causes.
OK, that’s it. Then some people wake up in the morning, and have pain, those desire to reconnect with the lost…or maybe with things we never knew. From this place, choose to be a creation through the creative process or destruction. For some, there is no privilege to access, there is no choice. So much art can satisfy intelligence, and the tickling wit is the key to jokes. The cost of entry is only $200,000 in art school debt.
But there are artistic adventures that incorporate magic, due to a deep desire to know things outside of disconnection to master supernatural poetry.
Art is about finding our human home. We made a lot of wrong turns, and everyone was a teacher.
