Gemini now performs automated summary for long gmail threads

Google’s AI Gemini will now automatically summarize long email threads for certain users, the company said in a blog post.
gmail search just got smarter, thanks to AI
Previously, users had to click “Summary this email” to make Gemini generate key points. Now if users have smart features in Gmail, chat, meet and workspace open, they will automatically appear “summary will help”, such as long threads or communication with multiple replies. Currently, this feature is available in English only.

If you are using Gmail with an administrator (such as a company or school), the administrator can turn these smart settings on or off. According to Google’s help page, these features are not by default in Europe and Japan.
Mixable light speed
This is a continuation of Google’s injecting AI into every product, including Gmail and now Chrome. At its annual I/O event earlier this month, Google announced more AI features, including smart replies and meeting schedules.
If the AI pops up in your Google email and you want to get rid of it, see the following guide on how to turn off Gemini in Gmail.
