Bennett Miller’s AI photos

American film director Bennett Miller’s recent AI photo exhibition in Gagosian Paris fascinated me. At first glance, the works seem unpretentious, like a woman smoking two cigarettes at the same time. However, after careful inspection, one can see smoke coming out of her hair and having a body deformed like her hands. AI is difficult to read certain details. All Miller’s photos are close to reality, but something missing or distorted makes the audience question the world we are in.

Midjourney

When I started working on MidJourney’s program, it completely immersed me in this AI world. I like that I can give the system very specific word preparation force, run around, smoke, and then produce images from what seems to be everywhere. I was fascinated by the effect of this surprise, as if the machine had read my thoughts. Artificial intelligence is some kind of utopia, an opportunity to create something being made because it is brand new.

Fashion Neurosis

Fashion designer Bella Freud is the daughter of artist Lucian Freud and the great-granddaughter of psychoanalytical inventor Sigmund Freud. In her podcast Fashion NeurosisBella invites celebrity guests to discuss the connection between fashion and identity. Inviting them to lie on the couch and use the Floydians, Bella first asks people what clothes they wear and ends up by reminding us of their relationship with each other. Australian musician and actor Nick Cave, for example, is on the podcast with his wife Susie. They do open their hearts and show the tenderness of their relationship in a way that makes me proud of.

Utopia

I met American rapper Travis Scott behind the scenes Saturday Night Live. When I heard his latest album Utopia [2023]it feels like a revolution. He is part of this new generation of music, and the music he brings to the world is not only timely, but also brings a lot of hope to the originally bleak world. I’m from a generation who think we’ve had all the battles. We want to be a utopian idea of reality, and the energy of young thinkers is crucial to keep moving forward.

Now there is a feeling that we can [use to] Create whatever art we want, but I questioned Christie’s auction house before I could imagine another world. The tool should change our system, but they try to embed it into the capitalist system for their own benefit. Christie, please wait.
