Grilled Brussels sprouts turn once-hately hated vegetables into something crispy, delicious and addictive. This is one of our favorite summer side dishes ever!

The grilled Brussels sprouts get that sweet smoky flavor and some char, and when you put anything on the grill you get that delicious flavor. Plus, you’ll caramelize, crispy, super brown edges on the sprouts. Don’t worry about whether they are burned. These brown crisp edges are the best part!

Another great thing about grilling Brussels sprouts is that they are blank canvas of flavor. You can marinate them with balsamic vinegar and honey for something sweet and savory, pair with Asian style skewers, or you can bring them in the direction of Italy and add Italian seasoning and parmesan cheese. The options are truly endless!

How to season Brussels buds

Here are a few simple ways to add flavor to the new sprouts in Brussels.

  • balsam: Brussels sprouts and balm are classic pairings, and there is a reason. Before grilling, marinate the balsamic vinegar with the balsamic vinegar and drizzle some before serving. You can also drizzle with a balsamic glaze to really give off the flavor.
  • Parma Garlic: While the sprouts are roasted, microwave with 1-2 tablespoons of butter or olive oil in one clove for one minute. Then, once the sprouts are removed from the grill, drizzle in the shower with garlic butter and top with Parmesan.
  • Asian style: For Asian spins, brush the butter sprouts with sesame oil before grilling. Then, when they got off the grill, throw them with 1-2 tablespoons of honey and sriracha. This is magic.
  • Maple and mustard: When the bean sprouts are removed from the grill, throw them away with 1 tablespoon of pure maple syrup and 1 tablespoon of whole grain or second mustard. Sweet, salty and delicious.
  • Balsamic Honey: Another option for balm is to use balsamic vinegar and honey. Toss with a tablespoon as they get off the grill.
  • mushroom: When grilling, add your favorite mushrooms to the skewers or grill basket. The earthy flavor of mushrooms and sprouts works well together.
  • With onions: Add some red onions to the skewers or grill basket.
  • Seasoning: The charred Brussels sprouts have a lot of seasonings, which is a little tasty. Consider tossing with your favorite steak seasoning, Montreal seasoning or seasoning salt.
  • With Bacon: It’s hard not to think about bacon and not consider Brussels sprouts. Put some bacon straight onto your skewers for a super delicious snack. The bacon will become crispy while also adding all the benefits of the bacon to the sprouts.

How to Cook Brussels Sprouts on Grill

Here are some tips for cooking Brussels sprouts on the grill.

  • Prepare for new sprouts: First remove any loose or yellow outer leaves from the Brussels sprouts. These will burn on the grill. Then determine if you want to keep your budding state or cut it in half. Personally, I prefer to cut them in half for a browner, crisper edge.
  • Blanche or Steam: While cooking on the grill, it can be difficult to cook the buds inside before cooking them outside. That’s why you want to precook them. Coat them for 5 minutes before baking, coat them for 5 minutes. For easier choices, add them to a microwave safe bowl with a few tablespoons of water. The high microwave lasts for 3 minutes and lets stand until cool.
  • Add seasoning and oil: Throw the sprouts away with olive oil (or other fat) with any seasoning you are using. You can also add acid here, such as lemon juice or vinegar.
  • Brussels sprouts: Here are a few ways to grill Brussels sprouts:
    • Serial port: Present the Brussels buds onto the strings, usually 5-7 per string. Place directly on the grill and cook for 5 minutes on each side.
    • Baking basket: Add Brussels sprouts to preheated grill basket. Cook for 8-10 minutes, shake the basket 1-2 times during cooking so that it turns brown on all sides.
    • defeat: Grab a piece of heavy foil and make a small basket for the Brussels sprouts, keeping the top open so that it won’t be steamed. Place directly on the grill and cook for 8-10 minutes, carefully shaking or flipping half of the bean sprouts.

Do you need to cook Brussels sprouts before grilling?

To make sure the Brussels sprouts are not growing or hard in the center, it is best to cook them quickly before throwing them on the grill. You can do this by coating them in boiling water for 5 minutes, steaming or microwave.

To microwave and place in a bowl with a few tablespoons of water. Then go high for 3 minutes. When this process is completed, they should not be cooked, they just soften.

Can I bake Brussels sprouts in a foil bag?

You can grill Brussels sprouts in small packets wrapped in foil, but they are much steamed more than crispy. When they are wrapped in foil, the moisture in the sprouts creates a steamer.

The bean sprouts will have some charcoal and smoky flavors, but will be closer to the steamed version. If you do not precook the sprouts, it usually takes 15-20 minutes.

Can I make baked Brussels sprouts in the oven?

While you really can’t make roasted Brussels sprouts in the oven, you can make truly delicious roasted bean sprouts. First, cut the Brussels sprouts in half and throw them away with oil and whatever seasoning you like. Place them flat on the baking sheet to make sure the pan is not satisfied.

Bake them at 450 degrees for 20-25 minutes, shake a few times during cooking. This is my favorite recipe for roasted balsamic Brussels sprouts.

If you happen to have leftovers, this is what you should make for them.

  • refrigerator: Leftovers will be placed in an airtight container for 3 days in the refrigerator.
  • refrigerator: You can freeze roasted Brussels sprouts for up to 3 months. Thaw it overnight in the refrigerator.
  • heating: Reheat in the oven at 350ºF or in the 375ºF air fryer in the oven for 10-15 minutes.
