Best Capital Transfer Partner

Lufthansa Allegris

TPG’s August 2025 valuation fixed the value of a mile of capital at 1.85 cents. These are some of the best options.

  • Air Canada Aeroplan: You can find great sweet spots for Aeroplan program partners with fixed reward pricing, such as 60,000 miles from the Northeast to Europe, used on airlines like Lufthansa, Switzerland and Austrian Airlines. Plus, Aeroplan doesn’t impose surcharges through the carrier, so you can book Star Alliance rewards for relatively low taxes and fees, plus you can add 5,000 points of one-way rewards to the one-way reward.
  • Avianca Lifemiles: Avianca Lifemiles is known for providing reasonable redemption rates on Star League partner flights, not through the fuel surcharge on the Partner Awards. Thanks to the generous pricing structure of the hybrid Carbines, if the short-term connection flight is in a lower service, you may be able to lower that price even further. Avianca Lifemiles is also useful for United Airlines’ domestic travel. Economic awards within the United States start at 10,000 miles.
  • British Airways Club: There are many reasons why you should care about British Airways Club and its Avios currency. One of the main reasons is the reward chart based on British Airways distance. For example, you can book business-grade flights that open in Iberian Iberia for 40,500 Avios, plus about $117 in taxes and fees. You can also redeem Avios for both American and Alaska Airlines domestic reward flights, starting with only 12,000 British Airways club Avios.
  • Flying blue: Loyalty programs for France, KLM and other airlines use dynamic pricing. If you can find a limited free reserve, you can book a business-class flight to Europe for 60,000 blue miles. Also, consider monthly promotional rewards for more discounts.
  • Turkish Airlines’ Mileage and Smile: Turkish Airlines’ Miles & Smiles program still uses reward charts and provides an attractive location: a joint operational flight between the United States and Hawaii is only economically only 10,000 miles. You won’t charge you a fuel surcharge on a joint-operated flight, and on a Turkey-operated flight, the fuel surcharge is a business-grade seat to Turkey, which is very reasonable from 65,000 miles.
  • Virgin Red: Virgin Red is a loyalty program for the Virgin of Brands family. Among other things, you can use Virgin Points to book flights planned through the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and cruise with Virgin Voyages. Although Virgin Atlantic has switched to dynamic reward pricing, you can fly one-way from the U.S. to Europe from 6,000 points plus about $108, which is an amazing deal. You can also fly from the U.S. West Coast to Japan on all Japanese airline business class with 52,500 points or 72,500 points (plus taxes and fees) for 72,500 points (plus taxes and fees), although you need to call the booking and it’s hard to find availability.

Medium-term Capital No. 1 Transfer Partner

Here are some transfer partners that can provide reliable value, but you need to compare the cash price to the mileage cost before transferring:

  • ACCOR LIVE Unlimited: With fixed value redemption, Accor’s loyalty program allows you to redeem 2,000 points for 40 euros – about USD 46 from your accommodation. With a 2:1 transfer ratio, 4,000 Capital 1 mile will save you $46, slightly more than a fixed-rate travel redemption through Capital One, which generates $40 for the same amount.
  • Cathay Pacific’s Cathay Pacific: The program uses distance-based pricing, which can mean high reward costs, especially in premium cabins. However, Cathay Pacific may also offer lower fees at the British Airways Awards and better access to Cathay Pacific’s first-class space, although it’s still hard to find.
  • Finnair Plus: Finnair Plus uses Avios as the reward currency. Its area-based chart creates some Finnair Avios desserts. Also, when you book through Finnair instead of British Airways, you can sometimes avoid paying as many surcharges as possible.
  • Singapore Airlines Kleisley: If you want to book a Singapore suite or first class, you need to use Singapore Krisflyer. You may also find good value when you redeem Krisflyer Miles for a spontaneous escape from Singapore Airlines.
  • Qantas Frequent Flyer: This program provides classics and rewards for flights with dynamic prices. However, booking classic flight rewards using distance-based charts can often offer higher value, especially in business class and first class in the UAE. Note that most of these speeds have been increasing lately.
  • Wyndham Rewards: The most expensive Wyndham reward property is priced at just 30,000 points per night, which can provide a high value compared to the cash rate.

Low-value Capital No. 1 Transfer Partner

Due to expensive reward charts, poor transfer ratios, hidden fees and plans that are difficult to navigate, you will most likely not maximize your capital with these transfer partners a mile:

  • Air Mexico Rewards: Once taxes and booking fees are considered (even when booking on the website), the Aeromexico rewards program has little value.
  • Select Privileges: Since TPG August 2025, the value of the valuation will be selected at a price of 0.6 cents per point, and the transfer of capital to the selection privilege will not usually bring the best value when transferring capital to the selection privilege at a 1:1 ratio. Instead, consider purchasing a selection point during the sale or registering for a privileged credit card to earn a selection point.
  • Emirates Airlines: With high redemption costs, carrier surcharges, and restrictions on first-class redemption for elite members, the high redemption costs and surcharges for Chiefs International businesses usually reduce value. Use Qantas instead.
  • Etihad’s Guests: Myers in the guest program in Etihad expires after 18 months. Second, if you cancel your comfort and value booking more than 21 days before departure, canceling the cancellation charge is extreme, with a 25% fine, a severing fine for luxury bookings 75% and a 100% fine for comfort and value bookings within 7 days of departure.
  • Eva Air Infinite Miley Grands: Capital One has partnered with several other star alliance programs that are often more suitable for booking rewards. The reward sheet for EVA is often more expensive and the program is often difficult to navigate.
  • JetBlue TrueBlueThe :5:3 transfer ratio makes JetBlue TrueBlue the worse option than a 1:1 partner to transfer capital by one mile.
  • Pat the Portuguese mileage: The Tap’s Miles & Go program does have reward charts, but when you search for rewards you see other (usually higher) rates.

Bottom line

Some excellent capitals can almost carry a mile of capital value alone.

However, not every transfer partner will offer great value, so remember to compare the cash price of your air ticket or hotel accommodation before transferring another mile.

Sometimes, buying a paid ticket (or stay) and then redeeming a mile at a fixed value to cash in on your recent travel purchase will generate better value.
