Children’s meals and reduced packaged snacks

Share I share some of my meal preparations for the kids, especially during our backseat season. We also completed our mission of reducing packaged snacks, but I still stock up on essentials and favorites for the pantry that flourished the market. < - My link gives you 40% off on your first order

Hi, friends! Are you OK? Hope you have enjoyed this week so far. We are finding out that our new routine is +liv to take a break from the dance in the case of homeschool (of course, I’m a little sad, but definitely don’t miss the 30 minutes of driving 30 minutes a day, twice a day). Now, we are packing lunch again on the road and I try to do something different.

Children’s meals and reduced packaged snacks

– Get one ton ready.

The refrigerator is filled with healthy snacks and meals, which is very helpful.

Here are some things I do every week:

– Fruit preparation. If there is fruit, prepare to go in the refrigerator, they will definitely eat it instead of grabbing the bar or packing snacks. Melons are in season and are good now, so lately I have been picking up a few different melons (especially the kids love Piel de Sapo and Golden Watermelon) and then chop them up for storage in a glass container. I also dip the berries in water and vinegar for 2-5 minutes (1 part vinegar to 3 parts water), rinse, and let them dry completely. I then placed the tissue on the bottom of the glass container with a lid. They lasted for so long! We usually mix berries: strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. I also soak the grapes and plums in water + vinegar for about 15 minutes, dry them, and store them in an open glass bowl in the refrigerator. The kids will catch a few grapes throughout the day and I love all our fruits!

– Energy bite. I have a lot of different recipes on my blog (e.g.!), but my favorites are cashew and spot dates, cinnamon, a little salt, vanilla extract and rainbow syrup.

(That’s why I no longer take food photos for my blog)

– Protein preparation: Chopped chicken, seasoned beef and egg stings

Vegetarian: I will peel and chop some cucumbers, peppers, carrots. They can easily serve themselves and dip in homemade hummus or guac. They also like instant edamame.

dip: Hummus and avocado sauce are a favorite here.

– Breakfast optionslike egg bites, nighttime oats, breakfast cookies (they still love these!), Chia Pudding. I also catch avocados in BFAST at school and eat them with Applegate breakfast sausage.

– One different/new/interesting thing every week. It could be like chicken or pasta salad, tortillas, quiches or cold noodle dishes for ice cream and protein that can easily be grabbed from the refrigerator by yourself.

– Reduced packaged snacks.

We still have our jobs that I will list below, but the reality is that many packaged snacks are expensive and don’t have great ingredients. I can make 20 great homemade energy bites on whole food for 2 small four packs. Our snacks are a big part of our crazy grocery budget and it’s very easy to get them at home and customize them for the kids.

Some packaged snacks we still buy:

– Nuts, dried fruits, diameter mix

– Canned beans (for hummus!), they also love Thrive Market’s Lupini snack beans

– Seaweed Snacks

– Gomacro Bar

-poshi vegetable bun

– Snack cheese

– cottage cheese

– Chia Bag

– Get ill

– Popcorn or Sut chips

– Delicatessen – They will roll up with cream cheese or mayonnaise

– sardine. I usually make a sardine melt, but the kids will eat them directly from the can

– Simple mill products (such as cookies, cookies and baking mixtures)

Some of my favorites of thriving market discoveries and health brands in this post.

– Go back and plan your dinner and prepare as much as you can during the day.

We have been making a lot of instant dinners since we got home from Spain, especially when we were working/traveling a lot. Back to school was when I started planning and making more pants needed for dinner than last minute takeaway or random Hodge pod meals. (Also, I found that I do have to plan and prepare dinner while parenting alone, because by the time we get home from exercise, it’s dinner time.)

My favorite personal parenting dinner is in this post!

So tell me, my friend: What homemade snacks do your kids have?

XO
