You can book events, car rentals, cruises, flights and hotels through the ChaseTravel℠ portal.
Chase Travel Buying Earn 8 points per dollar is an excellent way to build your final reward points. Although booking a hotel through Chase comes with pros and cons (as we will visit later), you will earn over 16% of your revenue on these purchases (based on our September 2025 valuation).

Chase Travel Portal also allows other bookings, including activities and travel. Of both types of purchases, you will earn 8 points per dollar. If you plan to make these reservations through a travel agency or a third-party website such as Viator, it is wise to check out Chase Travel first.
Use it to book flights and hotels directly
There are many reasons why booking a flight or hotel directly is more beneficial. If you are worried about losing 8 points per dollar through the portal, Sapphire Conservation Area Still have your company as cardholders earn 4 points per dollar on flights and direct bookings.
While that’s half what you can earn when booking through Chase Travel, the peace of mind you can get when dealing with customer service from a hotel or airline may be worth it for some people.

And you will receive a $300 reimbursement for travel purchases for each anniversary year, helping to offset the $795 high annual fee. Since Chase defines travel very broadly, your reputation will automatically trigger fees like car, cruising, and Uber. (Remember, you won’t get a bonus in the first 300 dollars of your trip.)
There are two other reasons why Sapphire Reserves are at the top when it comes to booking flights:
- Luggage Delay Insurance: You and your immediate family are entitled to $100 a day for up to five days, for necessary expenses such as clothing and toiletries. This benefit begins when your luggage is delayed for more than six hours.
- Trip Delay Insurance: When your flight is delayed for six hours or more or overnight, you can cover up to $500 per covered traveler.
Use it to eat
this Sapphire Conservation Area Earn 3 points per dollar for global dining. According to TPG’s September 2025 valuation, that’s 6.2% of the purchase.
If you are like some of us at TPG, you can spend thousands of dollars a year to dine. It’s not difficult to get 10,000 points per year for dining alone, especially considering that 3 points per dollar bonus category include delivery services like Doordash.
This is the favorite income rate by TPG credit card writer Danyal Ahmed. He earned bonus points on various purchases in his dining room, including coffee shops, cafes, food trucks and seated restaurants.

And the revenue rate matches the other benefits of the card:
- $10 per month for non-restaurants and $5 restaurant promotions (up to $300 per year) with Doordash and free DashPass membership for at least one year (must be activated by December 31, 2027)
- Up to $150 biennium (up to $300 annual year) states credit for exclusive dining tables with Sapphire Reserve (accessible via)
Use it for Lyft purchases
Sapphire Conservation Area Cardholders apply for credit at Lyft Rides (as of September 30, 2027) and $10 per month for annual credit (up to $120 per year; until September 30, 2027).
Unfortunately, credits don’t exceed one month, which is a situation of use or failure. With such benefits, the preferred ride service for Sapphire Reserve Cardholders should be Lyft.
Pair with another chase card
and Sapphire Conservation Area Very strong in travel and dining, and only earn 1 point per dollar on non-ruling spending. That’s where you pair it with another chase card can boost your income:
- Chase for Freedom® (See Rates and Fees): Earn 3 points per dollar when purchasing at a drugstore, while 1.5 points per dollar on most other purchases. By putting daily expenses like groceries, streaming, or gas on this card, you will always earn 1 point per dollar than the sapphire reserves offer.
