networking? I don’t know what to say!

Alex Freund is a professional coach in New Jersey. He posted a message on his LinkedIn feed and invited some of us to comment.
“Often, when I urge clients to be more social, they say, ‘But I don’t know what to say,'” he writes. While this comes naturally to me, I can understand some of the challenges introverts face. For those people, here’s a list of topics to ease into social conversations: career development opportunities, asking about company culture ation, their management and organization, how their learning and development programs are, employee job satisfaction, any innovation and technology, diversity and inclusion, life balance and well-being, change or stability, can I go and more. Remember, you can practice these topics with friends and family first before expanding through your network.
I think a lot of his advice relates to informational interviewing.
So, I replied:
The questions you asked remind me of informational interviews rather than networking because they don’t sound like relationship-building questions. These questions sound like questions someone might ask when trying to learn about an organization. I’m postponing both interviews with Michelle Tillis Lederman, CSP, SCC, Leadership Spokesperson Lederman Kelly Hoey – Network Expert 📖🎙🚕🐧🏡📚
Alex’s advice will be helpful to many of you. So will mine.
Better than applying through ATS
If they interview a lot of people, should you apply?
