In Inward, Cinta Vidal folds time and space in a perspective-bending painting — Colossal

Cinta Vidal, known for her mind-bending works for home interiors, continues to fascinate with a new series of paintings from Thinkspace Projects. artist solo exhibition, inward, She continues to explore what she describes as “non-gravity structures” in which space and time appear folded or distorted.
In Vidal’s dazzling works, people occupy different areas of invented apartments and homes. Maybe each picture represents a different time period; maybe they are parallel universes. “For Vidal, depictions of inverted apartment buildings and urban structures at both macro and micro levels illustrate the various ways in which the masses experience the world,” the gallery said.
“The word ‘inward’ refers to two layers within: the shared interior spaces we inhabit, and the private, inward-looking states we enter when we disconnect from the things around us,” Vidal said. For example, a sofa can be a place for gatherings or quiet rest. “These scenes reflect a subtle coexistence: together, but each in their own space,” she added.
