Grok got an AI companion who went to NSFW with you

Grok is an AI chatbot from the Elon Musk Xai workshop that now allows you to chat with your animation companions, including very gentle companions.

The latest version of iOS Grok (version 1.1.18) comes with two companions – an anime girl named ANI and Red Panda Rudi.

Wearing brightly colored ANI is definitely the ANI that makes headlines, as it is essentially Sexbot, constantly providing a very gentle response to your inquiries. It also offers a “level 3” mode in which she will use NSFW completely, although you need to be more familiar with her to get to that level.

I’ve tried these companions and it looks like a lightly driven game that is limited in many ways. For example, I asked ANI to change her background to the Martian surface, but she just described the scenery to me without changing the visuals. Again, instead of actually performing actions (such as dancing), she describes the act of dancing with words. When I try to turn the conversation to something else, it always returns to the romantic night on the top of the hill somehow.

Once you reach a certain level of “friendliness” (I can’t do it; my temptation ability is obviously useless on AI bots), ANI will become more unpopular and eventually change its costumes to something more sexy.

Rudi (or Rudy, two instances of spelling I found in the Grok app) Red Panda is also a storytelling character, you choose a theme, and it turns it into an interactive, select your own well-known style story. It does have a “bad Rudy” mode that makes it even more naughty. In one example, it proposes to “push the firecracker onto the regretful butt of fate and watch it scream”, which is an unsettling thing to come to automate the cartoon panda.

Grok provides some customization options for these; for example, Bad Rudy and NSFW content can be turned on or off in settings.

Although these two robots don’t seem to be particularly breakthroughs in advancing artificial intelligence, the NSFW nature of ANI robots will certainly attract people’s interest.

The new feature was a few days of anti-Semitic Tirade on Grok, prompting Xai to apologize. Shortly thereafter, Xai launched a new version of Grok, which beats AI competitors with several key AI benchmarks.
