OpenAI’s GPT-5 is here, free for all ChatGpt users

Finally, GPT-5 arrives – All ChatGpt users are free.

On Thursday, Openai launched the smartest and fastest model it described in a live event. Openai CEO Sam Altman detailed the functionality of the basic model at a press conference. “In my opinion, the GPT-3 is like talking to a high school student… The GPT-4 feels like you’re talking to a college student, and the GPT-5 is the first time that it’s really like talking to an expert on any topic.”

Openai said GPT-5 has improved expertise in coding, mathematics, science, writing and healthcare. Crucially, the company also claims that the new large language model has a lower hallucination speed than O3, which is 33% uneasy. But the key point is the overall improvement in the obvious and subtle way, Altman said. “I tried to go back to GPT-4, and it was painful,” he said.

GPT-5 will be available today for free, Pro and Plus users, but it is not available as of this writing. Openai said free users will have the strictest interest rate limits, and Chatgpt will return to the lighter GPT-5 MINI model after the user reaches the limit. PRO users will get higher interest rate limits, plus users will use and access the more powerful model GPT-5 Pro without restrictions. OpenAI also launches three models for API users: GPT-5, GPT-5 Mini and GPT-5 Nano.

Let the test begin.

This is a developmental story and we will update this post as new information becomes available…

GPT-5 also provides a new user experience, combining multiple tools into one tool and extending access to more advanced AI tools for OpenAI.

Confusing Model Selectors users who are tired of fatigue will no longer need to manually select the correct model for the task. GPT-5 eliminates this and combines the reasoning capabilities of previous models into a unified experience. Chatgpt head Nick Turley stressed that this is the first time that users can access reasoning, “They don’t have to think about it because the GPT-5 only knows when it will think.”

Mixable light speed

“The resonance of this model is really good, and I think people really feel it, especially the average person doesn’t take the time to think about the model,” Turi said.

Speaking of resonance, Openai demonstrates an atmospheric coded scenario where GPT-5 creates a language learning application with quizzes and games, all from short natural language prompts. “[GPT-5] “It really puts the power of beautiful and effective coding in everyone’s hands,” said GPT-5 researcher Yann Dubois.

GPT-5 has come after years of anticipation and rumored setbacks. It’s been more than two years since Openai introduced the GPT-4, a large language model that provides enhanced turbocharger capabilities to the already popular Chatgpt and drives commercial adoption of AI models. However, the report said that the Openai team is working hard to achieve big enough to ensure a brand new model, so the release of the GPT-5 has been repeatedly postponed.

What does GPT-5 mean for the future of the AI industry?

Openai said that Chatgpt is currently the most famous AI chatbot with 700 million active users every week. This means Openai has had a huge impact on the industry as a whole. Mashable has just begun testing the GPT-5 and we will share its features and features in the coming days and weeks.

For now, it is too early to say whether GPT-5 will silence AI critics, who say proxy AI tools fail to meet expectations. Some AI experts also believe that extending laws (improving AI models through pure data and computing power) are hitting the wall, suggesting that the current AGI pathway is longer, if possible, than OpenAI claims.

But Altman said in the briefing, the scale law “absolutely still exists.” “We’re always looking for new dimensions that can be expanded, and we can still beautifully scale pre-training and get huge returns,” he said. “Obviously, we have to invest in calculations like An-eye watering rate to get that, but we intend to continue to do that.”

Meanwhile, disturbing new problems arise as users experience so-called “chatgpt mental illness” and worsen existing mental health problems. A more advanced model raises questions about how users will relate to it and the responsibility of OpenAI to mitigate harmful interactions.

“We take these issues very seriously,” Turley said. Openai has been working with mental health experts to improve on issues such as emotional dependence and Chatgpt Siycophance, and will “share more soon.”
