Are you tired of submitting applications to black holes? The truth is, relying solely on online applications is the number one mistake job seekers make.

Another stupid resume mistake

Be honest: How long have you been looking for a job? How many weeks? How many months? Longer? Well, if you send the same resume over and over again, like a broken watch getting it right twice a day, you’re going to get a few results, but you’re going to fail. Finding a job is not about applying for ease. This has nothing to do with junk resumes. You’re wasting your time and I want to help you fix this.

I am Jeff Altman, big game hunter. People don’t hire me for the global job search advice and career coaching that makes the process of finding and succeeding in a job easier. Most people fail because they confuse activity with making actual progress.

You don’t need to apply for a hundred or more jobs to find your next one. You need some focused work that allows you to understand your story and your capabilities The background will be appropriate for the organization. If you send out the same resume for every job and it looks like everyone else’s resume, it will disappear because it will get buried in the crowd.

If your LinkedIn header says “Open Jobs,” you don’t want to be desperate, and that’s what you’ll be screaming out there: “You’re desperate.” Here’s what to do, and here’s what works. Start thinking of your job search as a marketing campaign. You are the product. Think about how you market yourself as a product.

Rewrite your title to describe what you do, not what you need. Use your network. Yes, message people, don’t hide behind a keyboard. Start talking to people and have conversations. Don’t just apply on job sites. You are wasting time. Frankly speaking, search committees and recruiters occupy 30% of all high-level jobs, and you spend 60% or more of your time applying for jobs.

Track results. If you don’t get results after about 10 applications, do something different. All in all, you can find your next character, but not if you do the same thing over and over again. You’re not a loser, you really aren’t. You’re just using a wrong strategy. I want to help you. come over job search community. I have free content there. I have a cheap membership and I can coach you into your next role.
