In Surreal Ceramics, Megan Bogonovich imagines a dreamy garden—a massive

Megan Bogonovich’s vibrant sculptures simultaneously recall fungi, coral, and botanical elements, poking the boundaries between the natural and the artificial, the unique and the artificial. The artist’s incredible botanical ceramics are created using a series of custom-made plaster molds, decorated with intricate details that resemble flowers or mushroom caps. Repeating shapes are camouflaged by a range of glazes, textures and decorations that resist pure repetition yet suggest a sense of inorganicity.
