When someone asks you to do something different, do you see it as a burden or an opportunity?
“It depends,” you say.
“What does it depend on?”
“It depends on whether someone ‘takes advantage’ of me.”
“How do you know someone is taking advantage of you?”
Then, you responded that it was like pornography. You’ll know it when you see it.
But then, you might not see it and miss out on opportunities to really stand out or overcome a fear or just help someone else.
Your help may be an opportunity to make an impact on someone, but your habitual response of excuses may be a hindrance.
