LinkedIn has recently made some changes that are changing the way you get discovered. Keywords are important, but so is context. Let me explain.
LinkedIn Premium: Is it worth it?
LinkedIn has recently changed the way people find you on the platform, and the way LinkedIn Recruiter now works is a perfect example of this. It now has AI-assisted features that employ technology in a different way, so recruiters can now avoid manual filters and paste all their notes into the search bar and paste the entire job description into the search bar.
AI will interpret hiring intent and goals to match candidates based on qualifications that are often hard to define or not clearly listed on a resume, such as experience solving vague problems or experience leading large, cross-functional work streams. This contextual understanding enables AI to deliver better search results and provide people with a more comprehensive representation of their skills.
Now, what this means for you is that you now have to use these phrases in your title, “About” section, and “Experience” section on your platform, rather than just relying on keywords. This is a huge shift because we were all trained to think in terms of keywords, and now AI is shifting the focus to the complete resume and the complete context of the information.
I provide more details in an e-book published on Amazon called Algorithmic Pivot on LinkedIn. These changes for 2026 will help you repurpose your profile so more people can find you.
