The first advice I always give is confidence, certainty and kindness. You don’t want to It sounds like you’re arrogant. You don’t want to sound like a BS artist. You just want to be a normal person talking, and talk to another normal person.
“Hi! This is someone’s office.”
“Is she available?” Or, “Is Susan available?” Or “Rajiv available?” No matter what the first name is, it is always quoted by 1 name. Never refer to someone or someone’s gentleman. That’s a red flag, you don’t know this person and you’re an outsider.
“What is this reference?” Usually, I start at the highest level of the department, so I might call first, for example, if you want to reach a hiring manager at a financial organization, I might call the CFO office first.
“I know, such a position is open. Who is the hiring manager for the position?” The administrator, the administrative assistant who answered the CFO, told me. If I don’t talk to the administrator and I’m leaving a voice response message, I might simply say: “I’m trying to Contact people Who may be responsible for hiring such a class. Can you call me back? . . “And provide my name and number, so there is a reason, they know, why they call,
I answer calls a lot because I’m not going to impose them.
