As a zealous meat lover’s wife, this can be tough (like real It’s hard) Finding the plant-based protein choices my husband really likes. That said, until I stumbled upon the deliciousness of roasted tofu. Whatever you might have thought of tofu before, throw it out the window. The flavor and texture of this dish are not debated.

This tofu is marinated into soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, maple syrup, garlic, coriander and red pepper flakes. The tofu is full of Asian-style flavors that are guaranteed to emit export water.

  • soy sauce: This is one of the main players in the marinade in this dish. Not only does the tofu absorb soy sauce well, it also adds a lot of delicious umami, umami flavor. I like to choose a low-sodium soy sauce, but you can use any kind at home including coconut Aminos or Tamari.
  • sesame oil: The sesame oil is full of nutty flavor and is a staple in many Asian-style marinades and stir-fry dishes. It adds a variety of flavors, as well as heart-healthy fats. The same goes for olive oil or avocado oil.

The rice not only adds some extra sincerity to the meal, but also does a great job of radiating any extra marinade to make every mouth full of flavor. To make it low in carb, swap the rice for cauliflower rice.
